One of Maastricht's festive bridges

The days before Christmas the city of Maastricht in Holland is displaying a "Light route" through their city. One of the bridges across the river Maas is decorated with beautiful Christmas lights. Such a pretty sight to see!



They also have a ice skating rink and a big ferris wheel on the town's square called "the Vrijthof". Behind it the big St. Servaas church was lit too. Very special place to visit during the holidays.





Even in the streets where the shops and offices are there are Christmas lights. Really enjoyed going to Maastricht!

Misty fall mornings

While walking the doggies at Bass Lake one morning last week we came across the beautiful mist on the lake!

An iPad's view

At the Glen Falls balloon fest I saw somebody taking pictures with an iPad. For me it still is an odd look to see somebody holding up the screen. But.... it was nice to see the double view ;-)

The plane

Today the President visited NC State University and Apex, NC. In Apex he visited a company that happend to be next door to where my husband works. So I took a peak... And that was just about it, a peak. No real sighting of the president, except for the limo.



Had to do some business in Raleigh too, so I did stop at RDU (Raleigh/Durham airport) and was just in time to see Airforce one take off!





Now that was fun!!! Can scratch that off the bucket list...

Ok, one more waterlilly

One more picture that I made @ Duke gardens recently. The water of the lilly pond is so dark and sort of mysterious, which adds a nice background to the pictures made there. I really, really like that garden! An extra addition to this one, was a dragonfly that took a break on one of the petals of the lilly.

5:00 pm this afternoon... Here she is.... Miss Irene, the hurricane!





We are located just on the West border side of where Irene is passing through NC. We are lucky....., we got a big cloud that poored the rain on the streets this afternoon. But it stopped after an hour or so... And out came a beautiful sunset. With up in the air Irene's clouds to the West! So around 8:00 pm same sky, totally different colors...





We are so lucky that we are just enough to the West of it. Our thoughts go out to our Eastern Carolinians!

Quality time with family visiting from overseas, need special attention....

Hummm

So today it was muggy, but.... cloudy! So found me a nice view on the hummingbirds outside this morning. Love those small, happy fast flying things! They were really checking me and that clicking thing in front of my face out. So funny!

Doesn't she have the best smile?! Loved working with her. It was fun!

We started at the railroad tracks and just within 5 minutes of the shoot, we managed to get her hands dirty and completely black from one of the wagons there! Not planned, at all!!! Luckily we had some water and a towel standby to clean them..... Resulted in some great laughs though! It's good, when it's fun!

Okay.... Have to admit my husband made me come to this event. But here is one of the pictures of the stuntshow of Chris "Teach" McNeil at the Raleigh BMW Motorcycle dealer. It really was very impressive (and fun) to see and.... ofcourse... take pictures of it!! This guy is good!! Again, very, VERY impressive!

Too good

This week I was at Bass Lake Park in the evening. There was a meeting of the photoclub. It was a beautiful night. Low humidity, perfect temperature and the sunset was wonderful. The lake looked like a mirror and there was a canoe on the lake. Too good to not take a picture of.... Life is good!

Little girls

The name of this sweet little girl is Meez. At first she was a bit hesitant, but later on in the photo shoot, she really was getting used to the camera and did awesome! Loved how she, so quickly, changed into a little model!



En what is better then one little girl? Exactly, two little girls! Meez & her sister.
