Yesterday I picked up the book of Nicholas Sparks called Safe Haven. Old school style, real paper back and all. I'd read about that they are making a film of this book this Summer here in NC.
So yes I have to admit, I love Nicholas Sparks books & movies. The Notebook, highly ranked in my movie top 10. And this books tells a story that takes place in the seaside town called Southport in North Carolina. Recently the local news told about how they were going to be filming the 4th of July parade and it's celebrations in the small town.
And I just can imagine how great this is going to look. Two months ago, I've visited the town for the first time and absolutely loved it!
Downtown with all the little shops.
Lovely homes and beautiful gardens.
Nice views and beautiful old trees in the streets.
So just so you know, what I'm reading this Summer, I'll be seeing on the big screen next Summer!
It's Summer!!!! And before you know it we are getting ready for the 4th of July!

Enjoy! Wishing "Y'all" a wonderful 4th of July!

Flowers, Mom's best friend!
for Mother's day....
Big blue eyes and such a great boy!
A little bit further down the road from the arboretum, is the "Free expression tunnel" at NC-State Campus.
Had been planning to go there for a while now. Grafiti is alowed here! As you can see....
Would love to do photosessions here. Great background!
Today I went to the J.C. Raulston arboretum at NC state University in Raleigh. And among many blooming flowers and beautiful blossom, the Wisteria was the eyecatcher for me.
Such an impressive flower. The color of it is so intense.....
The lively flower, which will continue to grow, even in your vase.
The white flowers of the paperwhites, make me think of spring!
Sure enough, today's NC temperatures are helping enormously!
I really like the serene look of a swan. The elegance ....
It looks like the water around it even notices that and stays calm and tranquil too.
The National Mall is under extreme construction at the moment. So no beautiful reflections in the reflection pool to be seen. Or a great landscape picture of all the lines and angles from the Abraham Licoln memorial towards the Capitol building. But.... the old trees on the Mall were untouched and loved how the snow sticked to their branches.
The National Mall
The Canadian geese were still around too....
Prepare for take off

The Capitol, just after sunset.
The colors were just magical. Must have been the cold night and the icy water that made it look like this.
